Question: I have lost about 40 pounds but I need to tighten up the back of my arms. Also, I still need to lose weight around my stomach. What exercises will work those two areas?
Answer: Wow! You’re doing a great job so keep it up.
One of the unfortunate aspects of weight loss is looser skin. In time it does shrink some and you’re on the right track to build muscle and get your arm tighter in general. There are many different exercises you can do to work the triceps including several ways to isolate the long hard or short head.
One of the simplest and most effective exercises stimulating all three heads of the muscle is Triceps Pressdowns. The keys to getting the most results from this exercise is to fully extend the arm and at that point of full extension flex your triceps. Furthermore, make sure that you flex it on every rep.
Another easy exercise to do is the Dumbbell Triceps Kickback. It’s simple and easy to do just about anywhere. The key to this exercise is same as for the triceps extension but also to keep your upper arm parallel to the floor. By doing that, you keep the stress on the triceps. As for your midsection, continue to watch what you’re eating and exercising. The fat will disappear and your waist will shrink. If your midsection is where you genetically store weight first, it will be the last place that it comes off of completely but it will come off.
God bless and keep training,
